China’s population hit a record low of 7.92 million despite financial incentives and legislative improvements.

China is undergoing a demographic crisis as the country’s population fell for the consecutive year in 2025. Newly released data shows a record low of 7.92 million, with a drop of 3 million as births despite the implementation of cash incentives and legislative steps.
