Retired Supreme Court judge, Justice (Retd) Dinesh Maheswari, is all set to take charge as the chairperson of the 23rd Law Commission of India in April 2025, representing a major change in reshaping the Indian legal systems. This appointment marks a significant milestone in the government's continuous attempts to examine and suggest appropriate changes to the several areas of Indian law, including the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Formally established on September 1, 2024, the 23rd law commission is all set to remain until August 31, 2027.
