PM Modi Inaugurates 103 Amrit Bharat Stations Across 18 States, Transforming Railway Infrastructure

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated 103 redeveloped Amrit railway stations across 18 states and Union Territories in India. The inauguration ceremony was held virtually from Bikaner, Rajasthan, on May 22, 2025. These railway stations have been modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme with an investment of over ₹1,100 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations, spread across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He also flagged off a new weekly train between Bandra Terminus in Mumbai and Bikaner station in Rajasthan.

Key Highlights of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme:


- Objective: To modernize railway infrastructure and transform over 1,300 stations into modern hubs with multimodal integration and future-ready facilities.

- Features: Modern amenities for passengers, including facilities for Divyangjans, and showcasing local products through the "One Product, One Station" scheme.

- Coverage: The scheme aims to develop stations across the country, with the recently inaugurated 103 stations spread across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories.


Breakdown of the 103 Amrit Stations:


- Uttar Pradesh: 19 stations

- Gujarat: 18 stations

- Maharashtra: 15 stations

- Tamil Nadu: 9 stations

- Rajasthan: 8 stations

- Madhya Pradesh: 6 stations

- Karnataka and Chhattisgarh: 5 stations each

- Other states: Fewer than 5 stations each


During the same event, PM Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth ₹26,000 crore in Rajasthan ¹.
