RRB GROUP D RECRUITMENT 2025 : Selection Process, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, And Syllabus

The Railway Recruitment Board of India comes up with many examinations every year, including RRB Group D and Level 1, offering an opportunity for the aspirants to fulfil their dream of getting a government job in the Indian Railways. The notification of the RRB Group D recruitment was released through the official website of RRB with a total of 32438 Level 1 vacancies. Candidates who successfully clear the Group D exam will be able to join the Level 1 posts in Indian railways, like the track maintainer, pointsman, assistant, assistant loco shed, etc.
The exam registration started on 23rd January, and the candidates will be able to apply till February 22, 2025. The dates for the written examination will be announced by the RRB in the coming days. General/OBC/EWS candidates will have to pay 500/- as registration fees, while SC/ST and female candidates will only have to pay 250/- at the time of the application. RRB Group D Exam Eligibility Criteria
There are certain criteria set by the RRB for the candidates to be eligible for the Group D 2025 examination. Given below are the criteria provided by the RRB in terms of education, age, and nationality:
Educational qualification: Candidates who have cleared the 10th examination or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship certificate (NAC) granted by NCT are eligible to appear for the Group D 2025 examination.
Age limit: To be eligible for the RRB Group D 2025 examination, candidates must be between 18 and 36 years old.
Nationality: Candidates must have Indian citizenship to apply for the Group D examination. Nepalese, Bhutanese, and Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 can also register for the exam until they submit a certificate of eligibility issued by the government of India.
RRB Group D Selection Process And Exam Pattern
Candidates must go through four different phases to get shortlisted for the RRB Group D 2025 recruitment. Here are the four stages of RRB Group D selection process :
Computer-based Test: The first phase of the RRB Group D 2025 selection process is the Computer-based Test (CBT). The 90-minutes online exam will evaluate your knowledge in various subjects like Mathematics, General awareness, Reasoning, and general science. Given below is the exam pattern for CBT exam in a tabular form :

2. Physical-efficiency examination (PET) : Once you qualify the CBT test, you will then be called for a physical efficiency examination (PET) to ensure you are physically fit for the posts. This phase is designed to evaluate the physical fitness of both the female and male candidates. Given below are the physical requirements that are required for the male and female aspirants to pass the PET test:
Male Candidates :
You will be given a weight of 35 kg to lift and carry it for a distance of 100 metres in less than two minutes without stopping.
You should complete 1000 metres in 4 min and 15 sec in a single attempt.
Female Candidates :
You will be given a weight of 20 kg to lift and carry it for a distance of 100 metres in less than two minutes without stopping.
You should complete 1000 metres in 5 min and 40 sec in a single attempt.
3. Document Verification : After the PET test, the candidates will be called to submit their necessary documents to make sure that the information provided in your application is accurate.
4. Medical Examination : Following the document verification, then comes the medical test. In this phase, candidates will need to go for a thorough medical check to evaluate their medical requirements. It is important to qualify for this test to secure the position.
